A Victorian tortoise shell style money holder or card holder clasp. Likely from around 1900 or before. The piece is in fair condition with some disclaimers. It has a beautiful tortoise style outer finish with decorative silver inlay on the front. The metal clasp holds firmly. There is a hairline horizontally to the right of the silver inlay on the front. This lightly wraps around the side. There is a hairline visible inside near the center-right. This hairline also wraps around the side but is hardly visible. There are blemishes and hairlines on the lower left corner-back which are present on it’s side. They are difficult to see, but present. The clasp closes firmly but one side raises up slightly to appear slightly open. The inside is a shade of royal blue silk or similar fabric. Size: 4.25x3”.
