Peggy D.O. by Helen H Watson. Likely published around 1900 by Cassell and Company, London. A thick book with a dark green cloth cover and unique bright cover illustration with red detail. Pictured is a young girl running after a cart with a red cape. The illustration is also on the backstrip with a gilt title block that is slightly rubbed. The upper right corner of the cover bends downward slightly. There is a penned notation on the right endpaper dated 1911. There is light foxing on the title page and a color frontispiece illustration. There are four color illustrations and two are detached but enclosed. There are occasional fingerprints in the margin and occasional light foxing throughout. 312 pages, size: 8.25x6".
