A small lot of antique floral books including the two pictured. “Maud, Locksley Hall & Other Poems” by Alfred Tennyson. Copyright 1891 in a two-toned hardback floral binding called a Vignette Edition from the publisher. The book leans forward slightly. There is light soiling and discoloration on the back cover and a small dent on the upper edge. The endpages have heavy foxing. The book has many full page and half page illustrations in black-and-white. There is moisture stain on the lower spine that creates light moisture stain on several pages on the lower corner. 384 pages.
Essays by Francis Bacon. Published by Henry Altemus around 1895 (no date). A aqua / teal blue cloth cover that has patina and a dark spot along the lower cover edge. There are light scrapes / wear on the spine and title block. The pages are soft with mild toning throughout. 279 pages.
