Jacques Louis Barcat Impressionist Landscape Oil, 8”

A stunning oil painting on board by Jacques-Louis Barcat, signed J Barcat (1877-1955). Painted in impressionist style with lovely lavender tones and life-like trees along a moving stream. There is slight canvas loss in the upper right and lower left corner. Please see photos. Size: 8 3/4 x 8 1/4”. 

(Barcat) A French painter, known for his naturalistic paintings and (family) portraits. He was a student of Jean-Léon Gérôme and Ernest Hébert. As a member of the Société des Artistes Français he took part in the exhibitions (Salons) from 1905 to 1936. Barcat mainly worked in Paris and Le Mans. *From Wikipedia.
