An exceptional European antique glass box with unique white hexagon design and gilded edges. The hexagon design is on all sides except the base which has white rectangles. The box has elaborate bronze handles and ball footings with scrolls. There is a key hole, but we do not have a key. There is some darkening of the metal along the lower edge in some areas. There is a blemish in the white enamel on the base as pictured that was part of the manufacturing process. There was a gilded flower in the center of the lid on the center white hexagon, this has mostly faded, but remnants of it are still there. There is general antique wear on the bronze metal finishings consistent with age and use. There are no chips or cracks in this piece.
Provenance: Europe, possibly Italy. Lid is hinged. Lid is secure. Key not included. The lid remains open at all times. Clear glass with triangular textured appointments between white hexagons. From metal ball to metal ball on the base is 5 1/8". The interior of the box when opened is 3 7/8". The glass area is 4 1/4 x 3 1/2 x 2 7/8".
