Anna ou La Piete Filiale by M de Marles. Published by A Mame et Cie Imprimeurs Libraires, Tours. Copyright 1847. French language. The book includes a few black and white illustrations with heavy foxing. The hardcover is in cartonnage style with a bright blue and gilded floral and leaf design on white. The cover corners are lightly bumped. There is shelf-wear on the upper backstrip and a small piece of the paper on the backstrip is missing near the middle (pictured). There is a penned signature in calligraphy on the right endpage. There is heavy foxing on the title pages through page 5. The foxing continues throughout the book and varies from light to moderate  on the white paper. Foxing on the last pages is heavier. The book leans forward slightly, it's almost not noticeable. 282 pages. Size: 7.25".  

Anna is the story of a young woman that focuses on her sense of duty toward her parents. It was written as a morale and educational story to teach values to youth.
