Antique Dishes

We have had the privilege of acquiring many antique and vintage dishes over the last year that we are slowly adding to our website and other platforms. We hope you love them as much as we do. These are our recommendations for caring for antique porcelain dishware.

If they require cleaning, always wash them by hand in luke warm water using a mild dish soap, soft sponge or dish cloth. Use a firm grip to ensure the fragile dish does not drop, likely causing damage.

Any antique dish may not be put in a dishwasher. The high heat and other extremes may shatter the piece, remove or damage the finishings, fade the piece, strip any metallic or gilded finishing, etc.

Avoid thermal shock by using tepid or lukewarm water rather then extremes. We do not recommend exposing any antiques to extremely cold or warm water temperatures. This can cause breakage and cracking.

Chemicals such as bleach, lemon based detergents, scour pads, etc may strip or erode the finish. These are not recommended.

Hand dry each piece with a firm grip. We recommend a cotton or soft, lint-free cloth and allow to dry completely prior to storing.

These pieces should not be microwaved or placed in the oven.
